Admission Policy and Application Form

PART 1 – Admissions to the 2021/2022 school year – new Autism class only.

For the academic year of 2021/2022 children must be between the ages of 4 and 6 years of age. All children must have been 4 years of age by the 1st of Sept 2021. The school’s newly established autism class will accept children who are to be integrated into the schools infant mainstream classes.

Application and Decision Dates for admission for 2021/2022

The following are the dates applicable for admission to our new Autism class only:

  1. The school will commence accepting applications for admission on 04/04/22.
  2. The school shall cease accepting applications for admission on 25/04/22.
  3. The date by which applicants will be notified of the decision on their application is 16/05/22.
  4. The period within which applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer of admission is 7 days.

Note: Applications made after 25/04/22 will be processed as late applications, the school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s admission policy.

Failure of an applicant to accept an offer by the seven-day rule may result in the offer being withdrawn.

Number of places being made available in 2022/2023

The number of places being made available in the new Autism class is 6.

The following are the dates applicable for admission to Junior Infants/First Year:

  1. The school will commence accepting applications for admission on 10/01/22.
  2. The school shall cease accepting applications for admission on 30/01/22.
  3. The date by which applicants will be notified of the decision on their application is 21/02/22.
  4. The period within which applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer of admission is 7 days.

Note: Applications made after the 30th January 2022 will be processed as late applications, the school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s admission policy.

Failure of an applicant to accept an offer by the seven-day rule may result in the offer being withdrawn.

Other Year Groups Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2022/2023

The following are the dates applicable for admission to other year groups (Senior Infants to 6th Class):

  1. The school will commence accepting applications for admission to other year groups on 16/05/22.
  2. The school shall cease accepting applications for admission to other year groups on 06/06/22.
  3. The date by which applicants will be notified of the decision on their application is 27/06/22.
  4. The period within which applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer of admission is 7 days.

Note: Applications made after the 6th June 2022 will be processed as late applications, the school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s admission policy.

Failure of an applicant to accept an offer by the seven-day rule may result in the offer being withdrawn.

Number of places being made available in 2022/2023

The number of places being made available in Junior Infants is 60.

The number of places being made available in other year groups is a max of 30 children per class.
